In terms of the latest news, the 2023 bowling season is well underway at Dunlop Bowling Club. The opening day on April 15th was a success, with an abundance of sunshine and a delicious meal prepared by Vice President John and Lee. Throughout the day, Lisa Marie ensured everyone was well taken care of at the bar. In the evening, local rising star Abbie Blackmore provided musical entertainment.

If you are interested in taking part in club competitions, the entry sheets have been posted on the notice boards for a few weeks now. The draws for these competitions will be taking place at the end of the month. Thus, it is encouraged for members to sign up for the competitions they wish to enter as soon as possible. Match Secretary Douglas has also posted sheets for club games against Fenwick (Gents), Kilmaurs (Mixed), and Dalry (Mixed).

Members are urged to add their names to the sheets if they are available to play, to facilitate the organisation of teams by Douglas.

For those who are due to participate in the Bowls Scotland and Ayrshire Bowling Association competitions for 2023, the draws are displayed on the notice board in the club's hall. Members should promptly review the draws to learn about their opponents, dates, and venues for the matches. Match Secretary Douglas will be available to provide further guidance as needed.

Looking ahead to the programme for the 2023 season, fixtures are currently being arranged, and fixture cards will be available from the Opening Day. The programme features various matchups, including games against Fenwick, Kilmaurs, Dalry, Stewarton, Crosshouse, and Troon Portland, among others. In addition, the club will be hosting several competitions such as the Rescu Solutions Open Pairs Competition, DBC 2-Bowl Pairs Competition, and DBC Open Triples Competition.

Furthermore, the Dunlop Bowling Club will have the privilege of hosting the Ladies District AWBA Finals, providing an exciting opportunity for participants and spectators alike.
