East Cowes Sailing Club, nestled on Clarence Road, East Cowes, is a fantastic spot for boating enthusiasts. Located just 200m south of the Floating Bridge, Jane and her team welcome you to a hive of boating activity. They offer a variety of boats and boating activities, including a dedicated Fishing section for anglers.
At East Cowes Sailing Club, you can store your dinghies conveniently on the premises, indoors or outdoors, depending on space. Larger boats are also well accommodated on fore-and-aft tidal moorings just offshore, with additional tidy “finger” berths on the main pontoon. These are allocated by the Stores Officer. The best part? You’ll have access to your boat at any tide level, with all moorings visible from the clubhouse.
For peace of mind, members can use the club's webcams to keep an eye on their boats remotely.
Jane’s club also features a Dinghy park on the East Cowes Esplanade, with free parking close by. What makes it special is the community spirit – members join forces to maintain the premises under the committee’s guidance.
Thursday evening racing in the spring and summer is a highlight, with Dinghy and Handicap Cruiser classes (both spinnaker and non-spinnaker) offering thrilling competition for all sailors.
Membership and storage fees are very reasonable, making it one of the most affordable clubs in the South of England.
While there's no bar to keep costs low, there’s a cosy Members room for socialising and training. Jane also organises various social events throughout the year, building a sense of camaraderie among members.
Interested in joining? You’ll need a proposal or sponsorship from an existing member. To apply, download the editable PDF Membership Application Form, fill it in, digitally sign it, and email it to the Membership Secretary. Alternatively, you can post it to the club's address.
Membership fees are: Individual Member – £60.50, Dual Members (Partners at the same address) – £89.00, Reduced rate for partners over 65 – £78. Family membership options are also available.
