Frances Mace would like to share a personal note on behalf of the East Dean and Friston Bowls Club to the sports community. East Dean and Friston Bowls Club is located in the heart of East Dean village in Eastbourne and is open to members of all ages and skill levels. The aim is to create a friendly and social atmosphere for everyone.
From April to September, the club offers a variety of activities. Members can join in matches, roll-ups, and social events, participating as much or as little as they like. They also organise competition matches with local clubs, fostering camaraderie and friendly competition.
Even in winter, the club keeps active. They've arranged with another Sussex club to use their indoor rinks, allowing year-round play.
New members are always welcome, whether experienced or complete beginners. Frances encourages anyone interested in joining or learning more to get in touch via phone at 01323 423137 or by email at edfbc.committee@gmail.com.
Another aspect dear to the club is the appreciation of nature and outdoor activities. Nestled in a beautiful rural area, they highlight walks and nature spots around East Dean, Friston, Seven Sisters, and the South Downs. They even provide details on walks from the book “Wildlife Walks around the Cuckmere Valley” by Patrick Coulcher.
Besides sports, the club is an active part of the local community. They work with other clubs, businesses, and residents' associations to keep the village vibrant and interconnected. Useful links to local services like GPs, vets, and emergency plans are also provided.
Overall, Frances wants the sports community to know that East Dean and Friston Bowls Club is a hub for sport and community engagement. New members are always embraced, and there are plenty of activities and natural beauty to enjoy. Whether you're looking to bowl or simply explore the area, the club offers a welcoming environment for all.
