Easton Judo Club, located in Norwich, is a renowned martial arts club that has been operating since 2001. Catering to individuals of all age groups, ranging from 6 to 60, the club aims to provide a friendly and safe environment for learning and practising Judo. Easton Judo Club strongly believes that Judo can be enjoyed by everyone, regardless of their skill level or experience.
The club is affiliated with the British Judo Council (Martial Arts Circle), which was established in 1968 by Mr. Kenshiro Abbe, an esteemed 8th Dan Judo practitioner. Mr. Abbe, who also held 6th or 7th Dan in various other Japanese martial arts, had a rich background in martial arts.
As the son of a Kendo master from Kyoto, he received training at the Butokukai, which was often the victor over the renowned Kodokan in Tokyo. Mr. Abbe's legacy lives on through the teachings that have been passed down through generations of students.
Judo, a sport known for its physical and mental benefits, offers numerous advantages to its practitioners. From a physical standpoint, individuals who practise Judo can enjoy improved physical fitness, increased strength and flexibility, enhanced speed and agility, greater endurance, improved static and dynamic balance, sharper reaction times, and excellent coordination.
The psychological benefits of Judo are equally significant, as it teaches individuals important life skills. Through Judo, individuals learn how to control their feelings, emotions, and impulses. They gain a deeper understanding of the nature of competition, learning how to overcome their fears and display courage even in the face of pressure or fear. Furthermore, Judo fosters the development of a solid work ethic and valuable social skills, as well as providing opportunities to build meaningful relationships with others.
Easton Judo Club welcomes anyone interested in experiencing Judo firsthand to join them for a free taster session. This session not only allows individuals to see what Judo is all about but also provides a no-obligation opportunity for them to decide if Judo is the right martial art for them.
Located at Chapel Break Village Hall, Harpsfield, Norwich, NR5 9LG, Easton Judo Club offers Judo sessions every Monday from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The club can be contacted through their Facebook and Instagram pages, as well as via phone or email.
