East Preston Dance Circle

Welcome to East Preston Dance Circle, your premier destination for international folk and circle dancing in Littlehampton, West Sussex. Although our little group at East Preston has unfortunately folded after eleven years, we are excited to recommend the new Anatolian Dance Class in nearby Bognor Regis.

At East Preston Dance Circle, we were committed to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for dancers of all ages and skill levels. Our numbers may not have been high, but we were a tight-knit community that shared a love for dancing. Unfortunately, recent problems with the hall, rent increases, and the challenges faced by our older members made it difficult for us to continue.

However, we wholeheartedly recommend the Bognor Regis International Dance Ensemble for those who are passionate about circle dancing. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned dancer, this dance ensemble offers a wide range of classes to cater to your needs. Led by experienced instructors, you'll have the opportunity to learn and perform distinctive and beautiful dances from various countries.

At East Preston Dance Circle, we primarily focused on international folk dances. Some countries whose dances were often taught included Armenia, Bolivia, England, France, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Japan, Macedonia, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Spain, and Turkey. From the energetic Yerek Vodk to the lively and rhythmic Ambee Dageets, there was always a dance to suit every taste and preference.

Our classes were open to children, and parents were always welcome to join in the fun. We held classes every Wednesday at the Small Jubilee Hall in Middleton-on-Sea, Bognor Regis. The cost per term was 25, and if you required more information, all you had to do was get in touch with Janet Douglas at 01243 265010.

While we always encouraged our dancers to join the display team for performances, we understood that not everyone wanted that level of commitment. So, whether you wanted to dance just for the joy of it or showcase your skills on stage, we were here to support and guide you every step of the way.

Please note that East Preston Dance Circle is no longer active. However, we are grateful for the wonderful memories and strong bonds we created during our time together. We hope that you will find the same joy and fulfilment in dance at the Bognor Regis International Dance Ensemble.
