Eddies Windmill Hydrotherapy is an indoor swimming pool located in Fulbourn, Cambridge. It is specifically dedicated to serving individuals with learning disabilities and physical support needs. This hydrotherapy pool offers a range of sessions designed to cater to different age groups and needs, including toddlers, the elderly, and individuals in need of short-term rehabilitation as well as those with severe disabilities who require regular hydrotherapy sessions.
The pool is equipped with physical aids to facilitate easy access into the water, ensuring that everyone can participate comfortably. The sessions offered include individual and group sessions tailored to meet the specific needs of visitors, as well as mobility sessions aimed at long-term disability and recovery from injury. The pool also offers PhysioExercise sessions, which are supervised exercise-based sessions available on specific days and times throughout the week. All necessary equipment, such as floats, dumbbells, and resistance equipment, is provided during these sessions.
It is important to note that if a physiotherapist is required, the client must arrange for their own.
Booking is required for these PhysioExercise sessions, and interested individuals can contact the pool directly to secure their spot. Each session operates on a pay-as-you-go basis, with a fee of 7, or individuals can choose to purchase a loyalty card that offers 12 sessions for the price of 10, at 70. The sessions already include the time required for changing.
The pool itself measures 10 metres by 5 metres and has a constant depth of 1. 2 metres. The water is kept at a recommended hydrotherapy temperature for optimal therapeutic benefits. To ensure accessibility and convenience, there are separate male and female changing areas, each equipped with two changing/shower beds.
The pool is also equipped with two remote hoisting systems and a manual hoist. The remote tracking system makes it easier to transfer individuals from their wheelchairs onto the shower beds and into the pool. The manual hoist is available for those who find walking or climbing stairs difficult. All sessions at the pool are closely supervised by fully qualified lifeguards.
Eddies Windmill Hydrotherapy strives to create a warm and friendly environment for its visitors. The facility is highly regarded and attracts individuals from all over East Anglia. To get in touch with the pool, interested individuals can reach out via email or telephone.
