About
Edge Studios, located in Calgary, offers a variety of dance programs catered to developing dancers into their fullest potential. With options such as a competition team, pre-professional ballet, and individualized training collectives, dancers are assessed and given invitations to the programs best suited for them. Additionally, recommendations are provided for supplementary training options, allowing each dancer to create a unique and specialized schedule.
The dance collectives at Edge Studios provide a specialized training experience for dancers ready to push their boundaries. Students are placed into groups such as Hot Shots, Squad, Bloc, or Core based on their current skill set and potential for growth. The program consists of a 6-hour/week training schedule from September to May, focusing on foundational techniques, stylization, and performance enhancement. Dancers also have the opportunity to enhance their ballet technique through additional classical ballet classes, RAD Ballet Exam Program, and the Pre-Professional Program.
The Dance Initiative at Edge Studios offers community classes with a variety of current techniques and styles to promote artistry and individual expression. With Fall, Winter, and Spring sessions available, students have the flexibility to change their schedule and try new styles while adding additional training as needed.
All dancers in Edge Studios' programming, including dance collective, pre-professional, and Dance Initiative, are eligible to audition for the Edge Competition Team. Group casting opportunities are held at the end of June, and dancers interested in more information can contact the studio directly. Edge Studios is committed to providing a supportive and diverse environment for dancers to grow and thrive in their passion for dance.
