Edgware Taekwondo, located in Edgware, is a martial arts club and self-defence school dedicated to providing top-quality training in Tae kwon do. The club is led by Mr A Majithia, a highly skilled IV Dan black belt instructor, who has a deep passion for Tae kwon do and a wealth of experience.
As an affiliate of the British United Taekwondo Federation (BUTF), established in 1988, Edgware Taekwondo offers a safe and expert environment to learn this dynamic martial art. The training not only focuses on the physical aspects but also delves into the philosophy behind Tae kwon do, as envisioned by its founder, General Choi Hong Hi IX Dan.
Class times at Edgware Taekwondo are on Saturdays from 09:45 am to 11:15 am. The club operates out of OneStonegrove, located at 5 Hayling Way, Edgware HA8 8BN.
Mr A Majithia, the lead instructor, has an inspiring story of his own journey in Tae kwon do. He began his training in August 1995 under Grandmaster (Sasung) Manning, a 5th Degree black belt. From his very first lesson, Mr Majithia fell in love with the martial art, thriving on its pragmatic elements. As a colour belt, he enthusiastically participated in tournaments, seeking out any available opportunity to compete.
In 1999, Mr Majithia achieved his black belt, and in September 2018, he reached the significant milestone of being promoted to 4th degree. Throughout his training, he has continuously pushed himself to fulfil his potential, not only in Tae kwon do but in life as a whole. He credits his instructor, Sasung Manning, and fellow students at Harrow Taekwondo club for their support and encouragement.
Despite life's challenges and obstacles, Mr Majithia has always managed to persevere and progress both in Tae kwon do and personally. He firmly believes that Tae kwon do, when embraced in the right way, can lead individuals to exceed their own expectations and evolve in all aspects of life.
Edgware Taekwondo is proud to be affiliated with the British United Taekwondo Federation (BUTF), overseen by Grandmaster Au, a 9th Dan black belt. The BUTF was established on March 1, 1988, with a mission to promote and teach pure Tae kwon do as created by Grandmaster Choi Hong Hi, the founder of Tae kwon do.
One of the core values of the BUTF is fairness and integrity. When individuals study and compete with the BUTF, they can be assured of receiving top-quality training and participating in events that uphold these values.
