Eskview United Football Club is a renowned soccer club based in Napier, New Zealand. The club was established in 1975 by a group of players who sought a more family-oriented and inclusive environment to play soccer. The decision was made to set up the club at Petane Domain in Bay View, where well-established rugby and tennis clubs already resided.
At Eskview United, family is at the heart of our club. Many players have partners and children who actively participate in the club, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The grounds at Petane Domain are safe for children, and there is a fantastic playground where kids can have fun while their parents enjoy the game. We also have kid-friendly club rooms, ensuring everyone has a great time.
The club holds two important values close to its heart – fair play and sportsmanship. We are continuously seeking new players who share these values and embrace our friendly nature. Our club has gained a reputation as a desirable place to join due to our strong values and community spirit.
Located just a short drive north of Napier on the main road, our relaxed venue at Petane Domain is easily accessible. We invite you to visit us and experience the friendly atmosphere firsthand. If you like what you see, we would be thrilled to have you join our club. For more information, feel free to contact us at eskviewfc@gmail.

Eskview United Football Club has a rich history, with its founding members consisting of Ken Dungey, Fred Ellison, Brian Hollands, Colin Such, and John Bryne. Initially, the club faced resistance from some schools, but there was significant parental support for the club's mission to develop young talent. One school famously claimed it would only release "No hopers” to play for the club.
After the Napier City Council declined South Pond as the club's home ground, Eskview United found a home at Petane Domain through collaboration with the Eskview Rugby Club and the Petane Domain Board. Play began in the 1976 season, with players even taking responsibility for maintaining the pitch by using home mowers. The club colours were chosen as white shirts, blue shorts, and red socks, although the reserve side played in the Eskview Rugby colours of sky blue.
