The school is located at The Lime Tree Conference Centre, a dedicated performing arts centre in Matlock, making it the perfect environment for students to learn and flourish.

At Essential Energy, they offer dance classes for all grades up to IDTA Examination level in Theatre Dance. Students have the opportunity to participate in an annual production at the renowned Pomegranate Theatre in Chesterfield, as well as performances at charity events and other venues. The school caters to students as young as 2 years old, with classes available for adults as well.

In addition to dance classes, Essential Energy also provides coaching for aspiring teachers, ranging from beginner levels to those seeking higher level IDTA professional qualifications in various theatre dance genres.

The school offers a diverse range of dance styles, including Classical Ballet, Contemporary, Modern Jazz, Cheerleading, Freestyle, Fitness Classes, Funky Movers, Musical Theatre, Tap, Theatre Craft, Hip Hop, Street Dance, and Acrobatics. They are fully insured and regularly update their qualifications through Safeguarding Courses. In terms of faculty, Essential Energy boasts a team of exceptional teachers. Dawn Aldred, the Principal, has an impressive resume with a Fellow and Examiner qualification from IDTA. She has 40 years of teaching experience and is a renowned choreographer. Megan Hambly, a Senior Teacher and Choreographer, specialises in Freestyle, Commercial, Cheerleading, Contemporary Modern Jazz, and Musical Theatre.

Alex Peet, another talented teacher and choreographer, focuses on Ballet, Tap, Contemporary Modern Jazz, and Acrobatics.
