Eurokwai Judo Club, Egham Surrey

EUROKWAI JUDO CLUB, based in Egham, Surrey, is a reputable martial arts school that specialises in Judo training. Established in 1976, Eurokwai Judo Club has a rich history and is dedicated to promoting the principles of Judo, also known as “The Gentle Way,” as envisioned by its creator, Professor Jigoro Kano.

The club prides itself on the expertise of its instructors, many of whom have been influenced or directly taught by renowned martial arts masters. Sensei Yamamoto, a Japanese Judo Master, has taught at Eurokwai's Egham Leisure Centre Venue. Additionally, Korean Judo Master Han Ho San has also contributed to the expertise of the school's instructors.

Eurokwai's Chief Instructor is Professor K. Takata, a 9th Dan Kodokan Japanese Judo Master who has made significant contributions to the development of Judo at the club. Other esteemed instructors include Master G. Koizumi, known as “The Father of British Judo,” and Sensei Percival Yasushi Sekine, an 8th Dan Kodokan Judo Master who has taught Eurokwai Instructors.

In addition to Judo, Eurokwai Judo Club has also incorporated other disciplines into their training programmes. They have had the privilege of being taught by prominent masters such as Professor Hinori Otsuka, the founder of Wado Ryu Karate, and Master Tatsuo Suzuki, a Wado Ryu Karate Master.

The club's instructors and students have also trained with esteemed Karate Masters including Sensei Harada, Sensei M. Kagawa, Sensei K. Enoeda, Sensei H. Kanazawa, and Sensei Tanaka.

They have also studied Ki Aikido under Sensei Yoshigasaki and the Yi Zong School of Internal Martial Arts under Master Luo De Xiu.

Eurokwai Judo Club offers a range of resources including books like “An Introduction to Judo” and “An Introduction to Budo Self-Defence for the 21st Century. ” These books provide comprehensive information on the Japanese arts of Judo and Budo, respectively. They emphasise the relevance of these martial arts in everyday life, enhancing health, personal awareness, confidence, and self-discipline.
