About
The Fairview Pump Track, located at the Southwest end of Flint Park in Calgary, is the city's first asphalt pump track. This track was built by The Fairview Community Association and is now operated by The City of Calgary. The idea for the pump track came about in 2018 when a committee began looking into what kind of park asset could be built in the scenic vacant space of Flint Park. After community engagement events like Bocce and BBQ, it was decided that a Pump Track should be constructed.
Construction of the pump track began in September 2019 by "Bike-Track" of Airdrie, Alberta and was completed in June 2020. The track provides a fun and challenging space for BMX riders of all levels to enjoy. There are a few legal parking spots located near the pump track/dog park, with street parking available if the designated area is full. It is important to note that parking in the alley is not permitted, and vehicles may be ticketed by Calgary Parking Authority if parked there.
The Fairview Pump Track regularly hosts events and activities for the community. The scenic location is perfect for bike enthusiasts to gather and enjoy the outdoors. The park is maintained with the safety of users in mind, so it is recommended to walk or ride a bike to the park if possible. The Fairview Community Association extends their thanks to sponsors and donors who have contributed to the development of the pump track.
With the sod repair completed, the Fairview Pump Track is back open for all to enjoy. People are encouraged to avoid trampling the sod to prevent the need for further repairs. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced BMX rider, the Fairview Pump Track in Calgary offers a thrilling experience for all.
