Falkirk Indoor Bowling Club

Falkirk Indoor Bowling Club, located on Glasgow Road in Camelon, Falkirk, is a thriving lawn bowls community. Founded in 1982, this Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC) is open to all and owned by its members on land rented from Falkirk Council.

For directions, head to the traffic lights on Glasgow Road, turn right at the mini roundabout near the Ten Pin Bowling Alley. The club has a private car park, accessed through a controlled barrier. Members pay an annual fee of £10 for car park access, while visitors enjoy free access during their visit. Camelon railway station is conveniently located at the end of the car park, making the club easily accessible.

The club offers various leagues for both men and women, providing opportunities for competitive play and skill improvement. Several committees, including the Gents, Ladies, Management, and Senior Gents Committees, ensure smooth operations and cater to members' needs.

Facilities at the club include well-maintained indoor rinks available year-round. Players are required to wear clean flat-soled shoes or trainers. Bowls are provided for those who wish to try the game for the first time. Coaching sessions are available on Tuesdays and Sundays for a nominal fee of £3.00 for two hours.

Falkirk Indoor Bowling Club operates with various leagues and two-hour playing sessions to maintain viability. Free rinks are available for practice, and “bounce games” are organised on Wednesday and Friday mornings at 10 am, with players randomly selected to play.

Membership is open to all, with application forms available from the office. The annual subscription fee for current members is £80, due by the end of September. New members receive a 50% discount on their first-year fees, reducing the cost to £40. Social or House memberships are also available for non-players at an annual cost of £6.

Temporary memberships are offered to visiting members from other clubs or associations, bowlers in matches or competitions, or those who have hired a rink and paid the fee.
