Tara, the organiser, wants to share some exciting information with the sports community. Featherston Swimming Pool, one of the three seasonal pools managed by CLM on behalf of the South Wairarapa District Council, is ready to welcome everyone this season. Located on Johnston Street in Featherston, this inviting pool can be reached at 06 308 9665 if you have any questions.
Tara highlights that the Featherston Swimming Pool will be open from Saturday, 2 December 2023, to Sunday, 17 March 2024, except for Christmas Day. Great news—admission to the pool is free for everyone. However, she emphasises that kids under eight need to be supervised by someone aged 16 or older for safety reasons.
During term time, the pool is open Monday to Friday from 2:00 pm to 7:30 pm, and on weekends from 11:00 am to 7:30 pm. When school’s out and on public holidays, the pool is open daily from 1:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
Tara is keen on connecting with the community and encourages everyone to follow the Featherston Swimming Pool on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube for updates, information, and activities. The pool is also active on Neighbourly, a local online community platform.
For general inquiries or more info, you can reach out to the South Wairarapa District Council at 19 Kitchener Street, Martinborough. They are available from Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, via phone at 06 306 9611, or you can email them at enquiries@swdc.govt.nz.
According to Tara, the Featherston Swimming Pool is part of a comprehensive network of community resources. This includes the Wairarapa Library Service, Metlink Wairarapa, the Road Safety Council, and other local services. The Destination Wairarapa website is a good spot to find more about local attractions and events.
The pool is committed to privacy and accessibility. Tara mentions that they have policies in place to protect everyone’s data and provide easy access to information. The council’s website, maintained by thinkbox, offers features like adjustable font sizes and various colour settings for better visibility, making it user-friendly for everyone.
Keep an eye on local updates, as South Wairarapa might face Level 2 water restrictions. Details on water management, rubbish collection schedules, and other essential services are available on the council’s website.
Tara invites everyone to take advantage of the various online services provided by the South Wairarapa District Council, from paying rates to booking venues and registering dogs.
In summary, Tara is excited for the community to enjoy Featherston Swimming Pool this season. With free admission, convenient hours, and a strong commitment to community engagement and accessibility, it’s a perfect spot for some fun and relaxation.
