FitPilates, located in Chatteris, is a Pilates studio and physical fitness programme run by expert instructor Sophie Walker. With a focus on flexibility, strength, and precision, FitPilates offers small classes to ensure individual attention and a safe and nurturing environment for all participants.
Sophie is particularly passionate about Women's Health and Back Care, understanding the changes that the body goes through during different stages of life. The goal of FitPilates is to help individuals gain strength, mobility, and flexibility without adding bulk. Not only does Pilates prevent injuries, but it also alleviates pain and provides a full-body workout.
The founder of Pilates, Joseph Pilates, once said, “Contrology develops the body uniformly, corrects wrong postures, restores physical vitality, invigorates the mind, and elevates the spirit. ” This philosophy still resonates with FitPilates today.
FitPilates offers a variety of classes suitable for all fitness levels. Sophie's clients range in age from 16 to 82, demonstrating that Pilates is a beneficial practise for everyone. Group classes, which take place at the King Edward Centre in Chatteris, accommodate up to eight participants. Classes are held on Mondays at 9am, 6.
30pm, and 7. 30pm, as well as Fridays at 9am. Each class is designed to cater to beginners by focusing on the foundations of each exercise, while still challenging more experienced members to further their practise. With small class sizes, Sophie is able to provide tailored guidance and support to each individual.
For those seeking a more personalised experience, FitPilates offers 1-2-1 and small group sessions of up to four people at Sophie's home studio. This allows for specific injury rehabilitation, technique refinement, and targeted goal-setting. The home studio is equipped with a reformer, pilates combo chair, and spine corrector. In addition, group studio sessions incorporate a circuit-style format, utilising various pilates equipment, such as spikey balls, magic circles, bands, and small balls, to enhance the workout experience.
