Welcome to Fit to the Core with Liz Downes: Pilates, Yoga, and Zumba Gold in Littlehampton! Liz Downes has been teaching fitness in the Worthing area for over 20 years and is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of her participants in a fun and inclusive way. Liz believes that by developing core strength, we can protect our bodies and improve our overall fitness and functionality in the real world.
Liz's journey into fitness began when she discovered Yoga, Pilates, and Dance while training to be a school teacher and later an actor in London. She found these classes to be enjoyable and noticed her strength and fitness improving without even realising it. These classes became her hobby, and she continued to seek them out while on tour for shows around the country. After working in the acting industry for over 20 years, Liz decided to share the benefits she had experienced by becoming a fitness instructor herself.
With qualifications including BEd Hons, NVQ Level 3 Pilates Matwork, NVQ Level 3 Hatha and Flow Yoga, and Zumba Levels 1 and 2 (ZIN Member), Liz is highly qualified to provide a diverse range of classes. Currently, she focuses on Yoga, Pilates, and Dance (Zumba and Zumba Gold) – the activities she first fell in love with.
Fit to the Core with Liz Downes offers a variety of classes throughout the week. On Mondays, Liz teaches Yoga from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by Zumba Gold from 11:15 am to 12:00 pm, both at the Angmering Community Centre on Bramley Green. On Tuesdays, she teaches Yoga and Zumba Gold from 9:30 am to 11:45 am at the Durrington Community Centre by TESCO Extra. Wednesdays feature Zumba Gold from 9:30 am to 10:15 am, followed by Pilates from 10:20 am to 11:20 am, both at the Angmering Community Centre.
Finally, on Fridays, Liz offers Yoga from 9:30 am to 10:00 am, Zumba Gold from 10:45 am to 11:30 am, and Pilates from 11:35 am to 12:30 pm at St Peter and St Paul's Church Hall in Rustington.
For convenience, there is a small car park at the rear of St Peter and St Paul's Church Hall, and free parking is available for three hours behind Iceland and Waitrose in Rustington.
