About
Flitwick Bowls Club, based in Bedford, is celebrating its Centenary year in 2023. Established in 1923, it has been a cornerstone for bowlers in Flitwick and nearby villages. Tony, the Club's organiser, emphasises that lawn bowls is for everyone, welcoming all skill levels from novices to experienced players.
Qualified coaches are on hand to support newcomers of any age, ensuring a friendly and inclusive atmosphere. Members are encouraged to join in Men's, Ladies’, and Mixed competitions, with the club boasting a history of producing recognised bowlers at County and National levels.
In addition to lawn bowls, Tony organises social events throughout winter, fostering a sense of community among members. Facilities include a lounge bar, a large patio for summer evenings, and a TV for catching up on televised events. There’s even a darts league for those keen to show off their dart skills.
The dress code is relaxed for practice sessions, although club colours are worn during matches, with flat shoes required to protect the green. The bowling season runs from April to September, perfect for enjoying the sport and making friends.
Whether you’re new to the area, considering taking up bowls, or looking for a club switch, Tony invites you to get in touch at 01525 712807. Join Flitwick Bowls Club and become part of their rich legacy and thriving community. They look forward to welcoming you!
