Located in Edinburgh, the Forth Corinthian Yacht Club is a renowned sailing club that offers affordable sailing opportunities for all. Established in 1880, this self-help club is registered as a Community Amateur Sports Club and prides itself on its motto of “affordable sailing for all. ” Members of the club are encouraged to actively contribute to its functioning by serving on the Council and participating in work parties, which helps keep costs down as most tasks are done in-house.
As an affiliated member of the Royal Yachting Association and the Forth Yacht Clubs Association, the Forth Corinthian Yacht Club holds a prestigious position within the sailing community. Over the years, the club has evolved and relocated multiple times. Initially, it was founded in the Granton Hotel, now known as the Claverhouse TA Centre, in Granton Square. In 1895, the club moved to premises in Central Edinburgh.
After a 73-year interval, the club returned to Granton Square in 1968, occupying the former Harbour Master's House and Office at No. 1.
Presently, the Forth Corinthian Yacht Club's clubhouse is situated in the club's yard on the middle pier at Granton Harbour. The clubhouse, known as the 'Bell Block,' boasts an upstairs lounge equipped with WiFi and a kitchen complete with tea and coffee making facilities. Additionally, visitors can find toilets, ladies' and gents' showers with changing rooms on the lower level of the clubhouse. Alongside the Royal Forth Yacht Club, the Forth Corinthian Yacht Club shares the Granton Harbour and has its own moorings for members.
