About

Welcome to Fortrose & Rosemarkie Golf Club, the 15th oldest recorded club in the world, located on the Chanonry Peninsula in the beautiful 'Black Isle' of Scotland. Our Scottish Links Championship Golf Course offers breathtaking views over the Moray Firth, just 20 minutes away from the city of Inverness.

Originally established in 1793, our course was redesigned in 1932 by James Braid, a five-time Open Champion. With its rich history and stunning landscapes, Fortrose & Rosemarkie Golf Club has gained recognition and accolades. We were honoured with the award for Scotland's Best Golfing Experience (value for money) at the Scottish Golf Tourism Week and Awards night in 2017 and 2018. We were also shortlisted for the Best Golf Course of 2019.

Moreover, the International Golf Tour Operators Association has recognised our club with an Outstanding Service Award in 2021.

Our course is ranked among the Top 30 in GB & Ireland's Favourite 'Fun' Golf Courses, offering an entertaining and captivating experience for golfers of all skill levels. Additionally, Fortrose & Rosemarkie Golf Links is listed among the Top 50 Golf Courses in Scotland by Golf World.

We take pride in our James Braid designed course and have received numerous awards for its quality. Moreover, we have partnered with the Glengoyne Distillery to offer an exclusive 12-Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky featuring our club logo, highlighting our status as the 15th Oldest Recorded Club in the World.

If you're looking to book a round at our historic and picturesque golf course, our online booking system is now live for the 2024 season. We also offer regular open competitions, allowing you to play amidst breathtaking scenery and adjacent to a dolphin colony.

For accommodation, we recommend the Penta Hotel in Inverness, conveniently located near our golf course. With its variety of amenities and comfortable accommodations, it is the perfect place to stay during your golfing adventure.
