Four Marks Bowls Club is a small, friendly, mixed village bowls club located in Alton, Hampshire. The club is proudly affiliated with Bowls Hampshire, Bowls England, and Three Counties Fellowship.
At Four Marks Bowls Club, players of all abilities are welcome. Whether you are a beginner or looking to improve your performance, the club has qualified coaches to assist you in getting started or honing your skills in the game of bowls.
The club participates in a variety of competitions, including local leagues, Hampshire county competitions, and national competitions. Friendly matches are also organised, offering members the opportunity to engage in social play during the midweek or weekends.
Four Marks Bowls Club has an active events calendar, with upcoming highlights including the Club Evenings on Mondays, sign-up day on April 17th, Green Opening on April 22nd, Open Day on May 14th, Open Triples Tournament on August 23rd, Chairman v Captain on September 13th, and AGM on November 2nd.
The club also organises friendly matches against other clubs throughout the season. Some fixtures for 2023 include matches against Crondall, Rowledge, Petersfield, Twyford, Alton Social, Rogate, and more.
In addition, the club participates in the Stan Hardman League and the Three Counties League. These league matches provide an opportunity for competitive play against other clubs in the region.
The club is led by a dedicated group of officers, including President Mark French, Chairman Margaret Leppard, Hon. Secretary Jim Clench, Match Secretary Howard Carpenter, and Treasurer Beryl Collier. The committee members are Sheila Martin and Denis Hough.
