Foxes Netball, based in Purley, is a netball club that provides coaching sessions for girls in the local area. It was founded by Danielle Fox, a Qualified Teacher and experienced netball coach with a passion for the sport.
Danielle has been a PE netball specialist for 5 years and has taught both primary and secondary aged children. She is also a member of a local netball club, playing every weekend in the Surrey and MET league. With her knowledge and experience, Danielle aims to pass on her love for netball and help young girls develop their skills in a fun and supportive environment.
The primary focus of Foxes Netball is on developing netball skills such as passing, attacking, defending, shooting, and understanding the rules of the game. The coaching sessions also emphasise personal skills such as teamwork, communication, spatial awareness, confidence, and co-ordination. The aim is to build a solid foundation of skills and knowledge before girls enter secondary school or join a club.
Danielle's personal experience of losing her love for netball when she faced increased competition in secondary school inspired her to create Foxes Netball. She believes that with more time and practise on the court, girls can build their confidence and skills, setting them up for success in netball and giving them the opportunity to meet new people in a supportive environment.
The sessions at Foxes Netball are designed to be fun, active, and safe. No previous experience is necessary as the club welcomes girls of all abilities. The goal is to create a positive and inclusive environment where girls can learn new netball skills, develop confidence, and make lasting friendships.
To book a session, parents can use the booking system on the website, selecting the desired class and adding their daughter's information. Each session costs 8 for a full hour of netball coaching. It is important to arrive on time to ensure that the full hour is utilised.
Foxes Netball is not a competitive netball club, but rather a place for girls to learn and develop their skills. The sessions are currently open to year 5 and year 6 girls, with the aim of preparing them for the transition to secondary school. In the future, the club may expand to offer coaching sessions for different age groups.
Girls attending the sessions should bring water and wear appropriate clothing for the weather conditions. While they will be active for most of the time, there will also be moments when new techniques are explained, so it is advisable to dress warmly on cold nights.
Join Foxes Netball in Purley and let your daughter experience the joy of netball while building skills, confidence, and friendships in a supportive environment.
