Despite the scorching midsummer heat, the 2023 Francis Chappell Open saw ten clubs compete with unwavering determination. The Hilly Fields Midsummer Fayre attracted 50 participants, with nearly half bringing along their families to join in the joyous occasion.

The club's Big Bowls Weekend, held on a Bank Holiday Monday, saw 16 people pre-register with Bowls England, highlighting the growing popularity of the sport. A memorable event took place in New Romney, where members embarked on a journey filled with anticipation and a touch of adventure.

To keep members engaged during the offseason, the club organised indoor game sessions every Tuesday from noon to 3pm, injecting fun and camaraderie into the colder months. Donations are always welcome, regardless of whether you are a member, a friend of the club, or a casual visitor. Every contribution goes towards the upkeep and maintenance of the club's facilities.
