This 60-minute session covers everything from safe practise to climbing techniques and is priced at 15 per person. Alternatively, newcomers can choose to climb unsupervised if they watch the safety induction video and successfully answer the safety questions on their first visit.
For those who have previous climbing experience, attending an introduction session is not mandatory. However, a few safety questions will be asked on the first visit to ensure that climbers can maintain their safety and the safety of others. Before climbing, all climbers, including previous climbers, are required to watch a short safety induction video and complete a registration form.
Friction Bouldering's location is easily accessible, with multiple public transportation options available. Situated on Saltmeadows Industrial Estate, near Gateshead Stadium, the gym can be reached by turning off the A184 at Gateshead Stadium and continuing to the end of the road. Located on the left side next to AS Tyres, the gym has limited front parking spaces, a car park at the back, and ample off-street parking on Saltmeadows Road. For those using public transportation, Gateshead Stadium Metro Station is just a 15-minute walk away, and there is a bus stop right outside the gym, with the East Gateshead Loop 94 and East Gateshead Loop 93 stopping there.
