The Mackay and Districts Mountain Bike Club is thrilled to announce the upcoming Frontline Equipment Maintenance MAD RUSH 6-HOUR event. This adrenaline-pumping Cross Country Marathon (XCM) will take place at Rowallan Park and promises an exhilarating experience for all mountain biking enthusiasts in the area.
With a duration of 6 hours, riders will have ample time to test their endurance and skills on the approximately 5.5 km course. Designed to cater to various levels of expertise, the terrain is considered low technical, ensuring that riders of all abilities can participate. Don't worry about feeling left behind – an intermediate level rider can expect to complete one lap in about 25–30 minutes.
To keep things exciting, participants can choose from a range of categories to compete in. Solo riders can tackle the course on their own, while Pairs and Teams of 3 or 4 riders will take turns navigating the track. For those who prefer a bit of team camaraderie, Social Corporate challenge teams with 3 to 6 members can join forces. Additionally, there is even a category for E-bike enthusiasts who enjoy the challenge of an electric-powered adventure.
Safety is always a top priority, especially when the event continues into the evening. All participants are required to have suitable riding lights to ensure visibility. We want everyone to have a fantastic time while also staying safe throughout the entire 6-hour duration.
It's worth mentioning that Junior riders have specific participation restrictions based on their age. However, we haven't forgotten about our young mountain biking enthusiasts! The event also features a separate Cross Country event for Under 11 and Under 13 riders, as well as a special Dirtmachines Ride for children up to 7 years old. We believe in fostering a love for mountain biking from a young age, and these opportunities provide the perfect platform for our future riders to shine.
