Opportunity to perform as a Soloist in their productions. After graduating, Katrina joined a professional ballet company in Germany where she performed in various ballets and contemporary works. She then returned to the UK and obtained her RAD teaching qualification, and joined Fuchsia School of Dance as a teacher. Joanne Rattray Qualified Teacher Joanne has been dancing since the age of 3, training in various styles including ballet, tap, modern, and jazz.
She gained her RAD ballet qualifications and has been teaching for over 15 years. Joanne has worked with dancers of all ages and abilities, from beginners to pre-professionals. She loves to inspire her students and encourage them to reach their full potential. Joanne regularly attends workshops and courses to continue her professional development as a dance teacher.
Mary Walsh Qualified Teacher Mary began dancing at a young age and trained vigorously in RAD ballet, ISTD modern, tap, and jazz. She achieved her advanced qualifications in ballet and modern and began her teaching career over 20 years ago. Mary has taught in various dance schools and has worked with students of all ages and abilities. She aims to create a positive and supportive environment in her classes, helping students develop their technique and artistry.
Ellie Serridge Qualified Teacher Ellie started dancing at the age of 5 and trained in RAD ballet, ISTD modern, tap, and jazz. She successfully completed her Advanced level exams in ballet and modern and has been teaching for over 10 years. Ellie has experience teaching both recreational and vocational level dance, and has coached students for exams and competitions. She is passionate about creating a fun and inclusive atmosphere in her classes, while also challenging her students to improve their technique and performance skills.
Anna Papatheodorou Qualified Teacher Anna began dancing at the age of 4 and has trained in various styles including ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, and hip hop. She achieved her RAD ballet qualifications and continued her training at the London Studio Centre, where she graduated with a degree in Contemporary Dance. Anna has performed professionally in numerous productions and has taught dance in schools and studios across the UK. She loves to share her passion for dance with her students and help them build confidence and express themselves through movement.
The Fuchsia School of Dance offers a wide range of dance classes for students of all ages and abilities. From the age of 2, children can participate in Baby Ballet classes, which are designed to introduce them to the basics of dance in a fun and engaging way. As they progress, they can move on to Pre-school Ballet, Pre-primary, Primary, and Grades 1-8 Ballet classes. For more advanced students, there are Intermediate Foundation, Intermediate, and Pointe Work Ballet classes available.
In addition to ballet, the school also offers Tap, Modern, Jazz, and Street dance classes. The class sizes are kept small to ensure individual attention and a positive learning environment. The Fuchsia School of Dance is proud to have a team of dedicated and experienced teachers. Wendy Arshamian, the director of the school, has over 30 years of teaching experience and is a registered teacher of the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD).
She is known for her enthusiasm and passion for teaching, and her classes are always fun and engaging. Katrina Magee, Joanne Rattray, Mary Walsh, Ellie Serridge, and Anna Papatheodorou are all qualified teachers with strong backgrounds in dance and various dance qualifications. The Fuchsia School of Dance holds a bi-annual show, which is based on a different classical ballet each time.
