Gav's Thai Boxing Gym

Welcome to Gav's Thai Boxing Gym, a traditional Muay Thai gym with a family feel, located in Myaree, South of the river in Perth. At Gav's Thai Boxing Gym, we teach Technical Muay Thai, focusing on the “Muay Fiemeu” style, which utilises all eight weapons of Muay Thai.

Gav, the owner of the gym, developed his passion for Muay Thai at a young age. Inspired by a friend's brother who was training and fighting in Muay Thai, Gav walked into Nongkee Payhuth gym at the age of 15 and fell in love with the sport. Nongkee Payhuth is a world-famous gym in Buriam, Thailand, known for producing renowned fighters. Gav trained with his friend's brother in the UK and had 24 fights, retiring at 29 with a record of 19 wins.

After retirement, he became a pad man and assisted with the Junior and Fight Teams, preparing fighters for their camps.

In 2014, Gav opened his own gym in Australia, and in the past eight years, the gym has produced state and amateur world champions. Gav has visited some of the best gyms in Thailand, learning different styles of Muay Thai from head coaches and fighters. To ensure authenticity in his gym, Gav has invited several world champion fighters and respected coaches to teach at GTG over the years.

At Gav's Thai Boxing Gym, we offer a range of classes, including Junior Muay Thai, Adult Muay Thai, and 1-on-1 training. Our training style is based on the style you would experience in Thailand. Expect a real feel for Muay Thai traditions, as we teach all aspects of the sport, including pad work, clinching, sparring, and conditioning. We teach in the style of Muay Fiemeu, emphasising technique and precision to combine all the weapons of Muay Thai.

You will learn how to read opponents in the ring and utilise your skills in the most effective combinations to defeat your opponent.

Our gym is known for its dedication to providing authentic Muay Thai training. We have an official size ring and high-end equipment, including boutique brand bags, pads, headgear, and uniforms. Gav's Thai Boxing Gym is a family-owned business, and Gav himself is a passionate Muay Thai fan with years of training experience. He brings in active fighters from Thailand as guest trainers to provide an authentic Muay Thai experience.
