The Gawler Aquatic Centre, located near the Willaston Bridge and surrounded by River Red Gums and spacious lawns, offers a serene and picturesque setting for water activities. The centre features three pools, including a 50-metre, seven-lane pool for lap swimming and two smaller poolsa Learn to Swim pool and a Toddlers pool. All three pools are heated, with the 50-metre pool maintained at a comfortable temperature of 27 degrees Celsius and the smaller pools at 32 degrees Celsius.

Aside from regular swimming, the Gawler Aquatic Centre offers a variety of activities and programmes. Visitors can participate in learn-to-swim classes and fitness programmes tailored to their individual needs. Additionally, the centre serves as the home to the Gawler Amateur Swimming Club, providing a venue for club members to train and compete.

The Gawler Aquatic Centre operates throughout the year, with different opening hours during the holiday season. On Christmas Eve, the centre has reduced hours from 7 am to 3 pm. It remains closed on Christmas Day but reopens on Boxing Day from 12 pm to 4 pm. From Wednesday to Friday, the centre follows its normal operating hours from 6 am to 7:30 pm.

On Saturdays, it opens from 7 am to 5 pm. During New Year's Eve, the centre has reduced hours from 7 am to 3 pm and reopens on New Year's Day from 12 pm to 4 pm. On January 2, the centre resumes its normal operating hours from 6 am to 7:30 pm. In the event of extremely hot weather, the centre may extend its operations until 7 pm on Saturdays or Sundays, but this policy does not apply during public holidays or the Christmas and New Year period.

To access the Gawler Aquatic Centre, visitors can purchase entry passes or memberships. The centre also provides swimming lessons and has lap lanes available for those seeking a more focused swimming experience. Visitors are required to comply with the current South Australian emergency management directives and COVID-safe practises.

The Gawler Aquatic Centre strictly enforces certain conditions of entry to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all patrons. Smoking and vaping are prohibited within the facility, with designated areas available outside for smokers. The consumption of drugs and alcohol is not allowed on the premises, and those under the influence will be removed from the centre. Bringing glass into the facility is also prohibited.

Management reserves the right to refuse entry to any member of the public and accepts no responsibility for any loss or damage to personal property.

The centre aims to cultivate a family-friendly environment, and any behaviour that is threatening, offensive, discriminatory, or vulgar will not be tolerated. Patrons who engage in such behaviour will be removed from the centre and may be issued a Letter of Patron Removal, preventing them from re-entering. Photography is not allowed within the Gawler Aquatic Centre unless the appropriate form has been signed and a red wristband has been issued by staff.
