The GO PRO New Zealand Diploma in Professional Scuba Instruction is an exciting opportunity for scuba diving enthusiasts in Auckland. Auckland Scuba Dive, the local scuba diving club, is hosting this 10-month program that combines academic studies with practical experience, allowing participants to delve into the wonders of scuba diving.
What's great about this program is that no prior SCUBA experience is required as it covers courses from Open Water to Speciality Instructor. So, whether you're a complete beginner or already have some diving experience, this diploma program has got you covered.
Upon completion, diploma graduates will receive NZQA unit standards in various areas, including Night Diving, Underwater Navigation, Search and Recovery, Deep Diving, Marine Species Identification, and Wreck Diving. The best part is that these courses are NZQA approved, meaning that eligible students can even apply for student loans to support their scuba diving journey.
International students are also welcomed to join this program, making it a fantastic opportunity for divers from all around the world to explore the beautiful dive sites in New Zealand. Speaking of dive sites, the program includes five field trips to top dive destinations in New Zealand, such as the Poor Knights, Bay of Islands, Cavalli Islands, Hauraki Gulf, and Lake Taupo. Imagine encountering amazing marine life, performing drift dives rivers, and exploring famous shipwrecks like the Rainbow Warrior, HMNZS Canterbury, and HMNZS Waikato. This program offers all of that!
Throughout the program, participants will have the privilege of diving on the Whakaari Express, a custom-made dive vessel that serves as a reliable and comfortable base for underwater adventures. And when it comes to the instructors, rest assured that you're in good hands. The staff consists of qualified PADI Professionals with over 50 years of combined experience. The full-time PADI Course Director, Nick Wyatt, will be there to guide participants every step of the way. In addition, the program has a full-time PADI Tecrec Instructor Trainer, Grant Searancke, who can open doors to the world of technical diving.
For those interested in joining, there are two start dates available in February and August 2024. So you can choose the one that suits your schedule best.
