Golden Castle Riding Stables was first opened in 1989 by Fiona, a BHS AI registered instructor, and her daughter Samantha, who is a BHS PI and riding stage 4. The stables started with just one horse and two ponies but has grown steadily over the years. Today, they have a large collection of horses and ponies, each with their own unique personality and characteristics.

Safety is of utmost importance at Golden Castle. The instructors emphasise good horsemanship and encourage riders to be truthful about their abilities. They believe that riding should always be enjoyable and that both the rider and the horse should have fun. If something hurts, it's a sign that something is not right, and the instructors are always there to help riders get it right and learn from their experiences.

Golden Castle offers a variety of services including lessons for both individuals and groups, as well as hacking, trail rides, fast rides, and trekking. They offer different time durations depending on your preference, ranging from hourly to half-day or full-day experiences. They also organise children's activity days from 9:30am to 3:30pm, where kids can enjoy a fun-filled day of horse-related activities.

The stables are home to a range of horses and ponies, each with their own unique qualities. Some notable ones include Ali, a bay Welsh section D cob; Beau, a grey Welsh section A gelding; Frisbee, a homebred appaloosa gelding; Jaffa, a black cob gelding; and Jewel, a pintaloosa mare.
