At Gold Strokes Swim School in Sunderland, Matt Wylie MBE, a Paralympic Champion, and Matty Davison, a GB International Triathlete, bring their expertise to create a fun and safe environment for swimming lessons.
Their bespoke learn-to-swim pathway, designed by International Athletes, caters to children and adults of all abilities. With small group sizes—maximum of four swimmers per teacher for stages 1-6, or up to six swimmers with two teachers—each participant receives personalised attention.
All lead teachers are fully qualified ASA Level 2 instructors. Lessons take place at Southmoor Academy, featuring a 4-lane, 20m pool with variable depth.
Parents can monitor their child's progress online, staying involved in their swimming journey. In light of COVID-19, safety measures are in place, including limited parent presence, social distancing, and mask recommendations.
Gold Strokes also offers private lessons and disability swimming sessions. They are linked with triathlon training for those wanting to combine swimming with other sports.
Lessons are available on weekdays and weekends, with ample parking on site. To learn more, visit their website or follow them on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
