About

Situated in the picturesque Magic Lake Estates on North Pender Island, British Columbia, Golf Island Disk Park is known for being one of the unique disk golf courses in the world. With 27 holes winding over and around a rocky hill, players are treated to a challenging game and a scenic walk in the woods.

Originally established in 1980 by Alex Fraser, Dave Watson, and Doug Keating, the course has evolved over the years with the addition of chain baskets in 2004. The front nine holes still feature the original tone poles, adding an interesting twist to the game. Disk golf, a rapidly growing international sport, is played much like traditional golf, but with golf disks instead of clubs and balls. The chain baskets and tone poles serve as the targets instead of cups on greens.

Golf Island Disk Park has been host to various tournaments over the years, attracting players from across British Columbia, Alberta, Washington, Oregon, California, and beyond. Families frequent the course, and even seniors have discovered the benefits of the game. The course is free to play, and no reservation is required. Disks can be purchased at various locations on Pender Island for those who do not have their own.

Maintained by the Pender Islands Park Commission and the Pender Disk Golf Club volunteers, the course continues to receive ongoing improvements and support from sponsors. The Pender Disk Golf Club also maintains a website with information about tournaments and events. Whether you're a seasoned player or a beginner looking for a new outdoor activity, Golf Island Disk Park offers a memorable disk golf experience on the beautiful Pender Island.
