Gordano Valley Archers

Gordano Valley Archers is a renowned archery club located on the outskirts of Bristol, in the beautiful Gordano Valley. Situated at The Downs School in Wraxall, North Somerset, the club offers a welcoming and sociable environment for archery enthusiasts of all levels.

The club holds shooting sessions throughout the year on Sundays and Wednesdays, with the option of moving indoors to their well-equipped facility when weather conditions or lighting do not permit outdoor shooting. On Sundays, sessions run from 9am to 12:30pm, while on Wednesdays, they take place from 5:30pm to 8:15pm.

One of the club's main objectives is to promote and develop the sport of archery for all. Established in 2004, Gordano Valley Archery Club initially operated as a school club but soon expanded to cater to the growing demand for archery in the North Somerset area. In October 2005, the club officially became open to the public, focusing on inclusivity and making archery accessible to individuals of all ages and abilities.

Gordano Valley Archers boasts three ranges to cater to different shooting styles. Their outside target range offers ample space for traditional target shooting, while the clout range allows archers to practise long-distance shooting. Additionally, the club has an indoor range where members can shoot comfortably during adverse weather conditions.

To ensure that all members have access to proper equipment, the club provides club-owned bows and arrows for use at no additional cost. This allows beginners to start their archery journey without the need for immediate personal investments in equipment.
