Grounded Yoga, based in Isleworth, West London, is led by Amy Faulkner, an experienced yoga instructor with over 20 years of practise. Originally from Wales, Amy has a rich background in international development and is committed to assisting others in realising their full potential through yoga.
Amy recognises that people come to yoga for a variety of reasons – whether it be relaxation, personal growth or simply some "me" time. At Grounded Yoga, she creates a welcoming environment catering to all these needs. Each session begins with a focus on body, breath, and mind, leading into asanas at a pace that suits every participant. The classes include pranayama exercises and guided relaxation.
Amy encourages everyone, regardless of their level of experience, to join her with an open heart and a willingness to explore their capabilities. Regular attendees appreciate her supportive teaching style, which fosters a sense of community. Amy emphasises a valuable and enjoyable practise over physical perfection.
Grounded Yoga holds weekly classes in various locations, including Isleworth and Osterley. Each class, priced at £12 or available through a £50 five-class pass valid for three months, ensures participants feel relaxed, calm, and invigorated. Sessions combine physical movements, breathing exercises, and guided relaxation, making them accessible to all levels of yogis who can comfortably move from the floor unassisted. Payments can be made in cash, by card, or bank transfer, and attendees should bring their own yoga mat.
Amy’s studio classes are on Mondays from 10:30-11:30 am at Wycombe House Tennis Club, providing a gentle start to the week. A slightly stronger class takes place on Thursday evenings from 7:45-8:45 pm at St John's Centre in Isleworth, suitable for all levels.
Additionally, Grounded Yoga offers postnatal and baby yoga classes. Amy views these classes as a special time for new mothers to focus on themselves while bonding with their infants. These baby yoga sessions will commence soon, and interested postnatal groups are encouraged to get in touch for more details.
Participants are reminded to bring a yoga mat and, optionally, a block, cushion, or rolled-up blanket for seating. Other suggested items include a yoga brick, strap, and an eye pillow for relaxation. Comfortable clothing such as leggings or jogging bottoms with a vest or t-shirt is also recommended, as classes are practised barefoot.
Led by Amy Faulkner, Grounded Yoga in Isleworth is a vibrant and inclusive community that invites everyone to experience the benefits of yoga for both physical and emotional well-being. For more information, feel free to reach out to Grounded Yoga directly.
