Guildford City Boxing Club

Welcome to Guildford City Boxing Club (GCBC), the best kept secret in Guildford. Founded in the 1920s as the Onslow Lions, our traditional boxing gym has been teaching, training, and showcasing amateur boxers for decades. We cater to all levels of experience, from absolute beginners to national champions, and offer an authentic and challenging boxing experience.

GCBC is a competitive club that takes boxing seriously, but we also prioritise enjoyment and effort. We believe that boxing is not just a sport, but a way of life. Furthermore, we welcome absolute beginners, with the understanding that they will eventually want to compete on behalf of the club. Our beginner and carded training sessions are held in our dedicated club located near the centre of Guildford.

If you're interested in joining our club, please contact us beforehand, so we can discuss your goals and place you in the most appropriate session. We emphasise 100% effort, 100% enjoyment, and 100% endurance in all of our training sessions.

We offer separate sessions based on ability, with a timetable available on our website. Each session costs 7. 50, and an annual club membership, costing 40, is required from the second session onwards. Personal training is available by appointment only, and you can contact John at Noble Art Fitness for more information.

Our dedicated volunteer coaches are all qualified by England Boxing and have been DBS checked. They bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to our club, ensuring that our members receive the best possible training. From our joint head coaches, Ben Harmsworth and John Edwards, to our team of skilled coaches including Mike Bartell, Vinny Lamport, Eddie Sica, Darren Corona, John Jones, Andreas Velios, and Stacey Ayres, our coaching staff is committed to helping our members reach their full potential.
