Welcome to the Hanwell School of Boxing, a small charity located in Hanwell, London. Our coaches are passionate about teaching boxing and do so purely out of love for the sport, without any monetary gain. All our coaches are qualified by the Amateur Boxing Association and undergo DBS checks to ensure the safety of our members.
We are currently closed until Tuesday, 9th January 2024. Please note that we will no longer be offering sessions on Fridays, but we have introduced Mondays as a permanent training day. Our classes will now run on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays throughout 2024.
At the Hanwell School of Boxing, our primary focus is on training towards our next tournament, which will take place on 24th February 2024. As a members-only club, we require an annual membership fee of 50, and subs must be paid prior to each attendance.
Starting from 9th January 2024, we will be open on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays in the evenings only. Junior members aged 10-16 can join our sessions for 3 per hour, while senior members aged 17 and above can participate for 5 per hour. We recommend booking your sessions online in advance.
Our club has a rich history since its establishment in Hanwell in 1949. We became a charity in 2004 and relocated to our current site in 2011. We are grateful to Sport England, the London Marathon Charitable Trust, and Ealing Council for their support in improving our facilities.
Let the Hanwell School of Boxing help you get fit and teach you the art of boxing. Please keep in mind that we are a sparring club, and once the time is right, and we deem you ready, you will have the opportunity to step into the ring. We welcome beginners and can teach you the necessary techniques, but we require your effort and dedication. As you train with us, you can expect to see improvements in your fitness level.
Our goal is to develop a junior and senior team of carded boxers who will compete in various competitions, representing our club. Additionally, we offer one-on-one training sessions at a mutually convenient timesimply reach out to us to schedule.
Prospective members are encouraged to attend and observe a portion of our session before committing to joining the club, as boxing may not be for everyone. To become a member, a joining fee of 50 per year is required. For session fees, juniors pay 3 per hour, while seniors pay 5 per hour.
Although we prefer members to have their own equipment, we do provide equipment for use until you have purchased your own, following our guidance. In our shop, you can find various boxing essentials, such as gum shields, hand wraps, bag gloves, and skipping ropes.
In the future, once life returns to normal, we aim to hold at least one home tournament per year. If you have any questions or inquiries, please get in touch with us through our website or the contact information provided below.
