Welcome to Hapkido Teesside, a martial arts club located at Sports Village in Middlesbrough. With years of experience in the Teesside area, Hapkido Teesside is dedicated to teaching traditional values while also incorporating other fighting styles such as grappling and groundwork. In today's world, self-defence training is more important than ever, and we can teach you how to defend yourself from weapon attacks.
In addition to learning crucial self-defence skills, joining Hapkido Teesside offers numerous benefits including improved fitness, confidence, flexibility, coordination, discipline, and a strengthened mind and body. Our classes are open to all, including men, women, and children aged 6 years and above. With a diverse mix of members, there will always be someone to train with if you don't have a friend to bring along.
We hold classes every Tuesday from 8pm to 9:30pm and every Sunday from 10am to 12pm at Middlesbrough Sports Village. The cost is 3 for children and 4 for adults per session. As a non-profit organisation, every penny earned by the club goes towards room hire and equipment.
Hapkido, derived from the words HAP, KI, and DO meaning together, life energy, and way of learning respectively, is a versatile Korean martial art. It combines techniques from Taekwondo, Aikido, and other martial arts, making it a complete system of self-defence. Hapkido incorporates both long and close range fighting techniques, utilising kicks, punches, striking attacks, joint locks, throws, and pressure points. The techniques do not require excessive strength, as proper foot and body positioning are used to gain leverage.
