Hartley House Dance Club

Community Centre, and from there, Hartley House Dance Club was born. Linda is a fully qualified dance teacher, holding certifications from the Associated Board of Dance and the Royal Academy of Dance. She has extensive experience in both teaching and performing, and is dedicated to providing excellent tuition to her students.

At HHDC, the focus is on creating a friendly and fun environment for all students, regardless of age or ability. The classes are designed to nurture and encourage each student to reach their full dance potential. RAD Examinations, Awards, and Medals are offered to all students, providing them with goals to work towards and recognition for their hard work and dedication.

Throughout the year, HHDC's 'Star Performance Companies' are given the opportunity to showcase their talents in performances for parents and the public. This allows the students to gain valuable performance experience and further develop their skills. Dance is not only seen as an art form at HHDC, but also as a great way to stay fit and healthy. The adult classes offer a perfect combination of a workout and a new skill to learn, catering to those who may not enjoy traditional gym workouts.

In addition to the regular classes, HHDC provides various extracurricular activities and opportunities for students to further enhance their dance training. They are also encouraged to attend workshops with visiting dance companies, audition for Theatre Royal productions, and train at the Royal Ballet and Royal Academy of Dance Associate Classes in Totnes and Exeter.

The classes at HHDC are divided into children's classes and adult classes. The children's classes cater to girls and boys aged 4 to 16 years old, with small class sizes to ensure personalised tuition and attention. Linda Hesselden, the founder and registered teacher at HHDC, has been teaching in Plymouth since the early 90s. She has a wealth of experience and is passionate about sharing her love for dance with her students.
