Welcome to Hereford Ballet School, a renowned dance and gymnastics academy located in Hereford, New Zealand. At Hereford Ballet School, we strive to enable all our students to achieve their unique potential, grow in confidence, and carry the skills they have learned into their daily lives.

We offer a wide range of classes for both children and adults, catering to all ages and abilities. Our classes are held in Hereford, Ross, and Malvern, making it convenient for students from various locations to join us. Children as young as 2 years old are accepted into our classes, ensuring that everyone can start their dance journey from a young age.

Our ballet classes follow the internationally recognised Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus. From our Ballet Tots class for ages 2 to 3 years, to Pre-Primary and Primary Ballet for children aged 3 to 7 years, and Grades 1-8 for those aged 7 to 18 years, we provide a comprehensive programme that progresses students through various levels with examinations along the way. For those aspiring to pursue dance at a professional level, we also offer Vocational Grades including Intermediate Foundation, Intermediate, and Advanced levels, where students attend multiple classes on top of their grade classes. This allows for accelerated progress and ensures a high standard of training.

In addition to ballet, we also offer classes in Modern Jazz, Tap Dance, and Gymnastic Dance. Our Modern Jazz classes are open to children from the age of 4, and the techniques acquired in this style can be seen in theatres and on televisions worldwide. Tap Dance, starting from age 5, is a fun and rhythmic dance style that students thoroughly enjoy. Our Gymnastic Dance classes, also starting from age 5, focus on developing strength, flexibility, and coordination.

We follow both the IDTA graded syllabus and our own programme in these disciplines.

Our dedicated team of instructors at Hereford Ballet School are highly experienced and qualified. Aimee Harborne, the school principal, has been running the school since 2003 and holds qualifications from RAD and IDTA. Aimee is passionate about providing the best dance education and nurturing the talent of each student. She is joined by Beth and Edward, both accomplished dancers with extensive training and exam achievements.
