The club has been running for over 24 years and is proud to have a Chief Instructor with over 39 years of experience in Tae Kwon Do and martial arts, accompanied by a team of highly experienced instructors.

At Hereford Tae Kwon Do, training encompasses various aspects of Tae Kwon Do to provide a well-rounded experience. Classes cover fitness, agility, self-defence, patterns, Korean language understanding, pad work, and sparring. This ensures that every student can find their area of interest and excel in their preferred discipline.

The club prides itself on being a friendly and inclusive social club that welcomes individuals of all ages, starting from 8 years old. The training sessions are held on Wednesdays from 6. 00pm to 9. 00pm and on Sundays from 10.

30am to 1. 00pm. The atmosphere during training is friendly, open, and jovial, creating a positive learning environment. The only expectation is that members give their best effort and strive to excel in their training.

Members of Hereford Tae Kwon Do have the opportunity to train with skilled instructors who have many years of experience. Each instructor has their own unique teaching method, but they all share the common goal of bringing out the best in their students. The club offers various opportunities for members to challenge themselves, such as local, national, and international competitions, demonstrations, social events, and even an annual ski trip.

Tae Kwon-Do is a version of ancient unarmed combat that originated in the Orient and developed into its present form in Korea. The name “Tae Kwon-Do” translates to “the technique of unarmed combat for self-defence. ” It incorporates a combination of punches, kicks, blocks, dodges, and interceptions to swiftly neutralise opponents. Tae Kwon-Do is not just about physical techniques, but it also instils a concept and spirit of self-imposed discipline and noble moral values.

Hereford Tae Kwon Do traces its roots back to 1955 when it was founded by General Choi Hong Hi. While relatively new in the realm of martial arts, Tae Kwon Do draws upon centuries of combat in its development. It combines the best moves from various martial arts to form a powerful striking style. Tae Kwon Do is known for its lightning speed and explosive kicking techniques, making it a highly effective martial art with practical applicability in modern-day society.

Training sessions at Hereford Tae Kwon Do are held on Wednesdays and Sundays at specific time slots for different skill levels. Wednesdays feature classes for beginners, as well as higher level belts, while Sundays cater specifically to beginners and seniors.

The club is based at the Hereford Leisure Centre, which recently underwent a significant renovation costing over 3 million. The Leisure Centre boasts excellent facilities, making it an ideal location for training. It is easily accessible and offers a convenient and comfortable environment for members to pursue their Tae Kwon Do journey.
