Heyfield Memorial Pool, located on Mary Street in Heyfield, is one of the outdoor seasonal swimming pools operated by Wellington Shire Council. The pool is a popular destination for locals and visitors alike, offering a refreshing escape from the Australian heat.
The 2023-24 Outdoor Pool Season at Heyfield Memorial Pool officially commences on Saturday, November 25th. During the off-peak season, from November 24th to December 15th, the pool is open on weekdays from 4pm to 7:30pm and on weekends and public holidays from 10:30am to 6pm.
In the peak season, from December 16th to January 28th, the pool operates from 11am to 7pm on weekdays. It is important to note that during this period, the pool will also be open from 12pm to 3pm every day, regardless of the temperature and forecast. From January 29th to March 11th, during the off-peak season, the pool reverts to its original operating hours of weekdays from 4pm to 7:30pm.
The swimming times at the pool are determined by a 'temperature forecast trigger'. The pool opens when the temperature forecast for Sale, as issued by the Bureau of Meteorology at 4pm on the previous day, is 25 degrees Celsius or higher. This ensures that patrons can enjoy a comfortable and safe swimming experience.
For lap swimming, Heyfield Memorial Pool offers dedicated sessions from 6am to 8am on weekdays, excluding public holidays. These sessions operate independently of the temperature forecast and are available to all swimmers who wish to start their day with some invigorating exercise.
Entry to Heyfield Memorial Pool is subject to the following fees: Adult casual entry costs $7. 30, child entry (5-15 years old) is priced at $4. 90, family/group entry for 2 adults and 2 children costs $19. 50, and concession entry is priced at $5.
