Hillside Rural Activities Park (HRAP) is located in Knayton, near Thirsk, and spans across a stunning 28-acre site. This picturesque park was purchased with the aid of grants and legacies and includes a portion owned by the Hillside Scout Group. HRAP is not only a well-utilised community park, but it is also a registered charity (1110968).
The park boasts a range of fantastic facilities to cater to various sports and activities. It features a full-sized football pitch, which can be divided into smaller marked out pitches as needed. Additionally, there is a well-maintained cricket pitch, complete with a pavilion that offers changing facilities. Three well-maintained tennis courts with an associated clubhouse are available for avid tennis players.
Families and fitness enthusiasts will also enjoy the well-equipped children's play area and outdoor gym found within the premises. In line with our commitment to safety, a public access defibrillator is installed on-site.
HRAP offers ample space for hosting outdoor events, competitions, and social functions. The park can be utilised for a range of activities, including camping. For convenience, the main building houses toilets, showers, and changing rooms, all of which can be made available for events. Previous events held at HRAP include music festivals, dog agility and flyball events, gymkhanas, weddings, and various sporting events such as cross country races.
As a registered charity managed entirely by volunteers, HRAP appreciates any donations to help cover the ongoing costs associated with the upkeep of our wonderful facility. Your support ensures that the park remains a vibrant hub for the community.
