Angus Pearson, the organiser of Hitchin Karate Club, would like to share a personal note with the sports community. Angus, alongside Sensei Paul Grimsey, has been running the club since it was founded back in September 2000. Their joint experience and qualifications have helped the club grow to over 40 members, including both juniors and adults.
The club, located in Hitchin, prides itself on its family-friendly atmosphere and strong ties to the English Shotokan Karate Association (ESKA). Angus is always keen to welcome new students as well as current ESKA members who are looking to further their training. Prospective students have the option to join a training session or reach out for more information.
Currently, Hitchin Karate Club offers two weekly training sessions. The Saturday morning session, held in the main gym at Hitchin Boys School, runs from 9:30am to 11:30am and is open to all grades. The Wednesday evening session at St. Johns Community Centre takes place from 7pm to 9pm. This session is structured in two parts, with the first hour for all grade juniors and lower grade adults, and the second hour for higher grade adults.
The dojo at Hitchin Boys School provides an excellent environment for training, while St. Johns Community Centre is conveniently located for the Wednesday evening sessions. The combination of these facilities and the guidance from Angus and Paul ensures quality martial arts education.
Angus also makes sure the club regularly updates its members and the community with news, grading updates, and important dates. He encourages everyone to stay informed through the club's website and social media.
Being affiliated with ESKA, Hitchin Karate Club benefits from a network of support and resources, enhancing the overall training experience. The central hub at Stevenage Leisure Centre contributes additional value to the club's offerings.
In summary, Hitchin Karate Club continues to be a reputable martial arts school in Hitchin, offering a supportive environment for both juniors and adults. With experienced instructors and a strong connection to ESKA, the club is dedicated to providing top-notch martial arts training and warmly welcomes anyone interested in joining their journey.
