Is the foundation of martial arts. At HMA Karate, located in Richmond, Australia, we are dedicated to building a better community one black belt at a time. Offering a range of classes for all ages and skill levels, we aim to help our students develop lifelong skills both inside and outside the Dojo.
Our classes are tailored around our four core values: courtesy, respect, honesty, and protection of character. We believe in showing respect and courtesy towards others, developing confidence through knowledge, honesty, and strength, and never using violence for personal gain.
For our youngest students aged 3 to 4, we have the Tiny Tigers class. This 30-minute class focuses on teaching life skills and discipline through the sport of karate. Topics covered include stranger danger, healthy eating, and understanding emotions. Tiny Tigers wear a white uniform with the Tiny Tigers logo on the back.
For children aged 7 to 8, we offer the Little Legends class. This 45-minute class teaches the basic techniques of karate in a fun and simplified way. Students wear the traditional white uniform (Gi) and progress through the coloured belt system.
Our Cadets class, designed for those aged 12 to 15, aims to build confidence and discipline through karate, fitness, and self-defence. We encourage our cadets to work well with others, challenge themselves, and enjoy working towards their goals.
The Little Ninjas class, for children aged 4 to 6, focuses on physical fitness and the benefits of good behaviour, teamwork, and excelling in various social situations. This 45-minute class improves motor skills and helps children face life's challenges.
The Big Legends class, for children aged 9 to 11, teaches more technical basics of karate in a fun and engaging way. Students will work on self-defence, confidence, and goal-setting, with discipline and focus incorporated into each class.
For adults looking to improve fitness, learn a new skill, or learn self-defence, we offer adult classes. Whether you're a beginner or already have experience, our classes are designed to help you get the most out of karate and contribute to building a better community.
In addition to our regular classes, we also offer private lessons for those who want to learn something new, work on more technical aspects of karate, or prepare for their next grading.
Located on East Market St & Francis Street in Richmond, HMA Karate offers classes from 4pm to 7:30pm on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, from 4pm to 5pm on Thursday, and from 9:30am to 10:30am on Saturday.
