Hoddles Creek Cricket Club

Welcome to Hoddles Creek Cricket Club, affectionately known as “the wombats. ” Founded in 1886, our club is based in Hoddles Creek and plays in the Ringwood & District Cricket Association. As a family-oriented club, we take great pride in celebrating the father-son and even father-son-grandson combinations in our seniors 2nd XI team.

Situated on the Gembrook-Launching Place Road, our facilities include modest clubrooms, three netted practise nets, and a picturesque ground in the valley. We believe that our upcoming youngsters are not only the future of our club but also the future of cricket, sport in general, and our community. That's why our dedicated coaches and team managers are committed to helping our young members achieve their best personal results while having fun along the way.

At HCCC, we value the contributions and achievements of our players and club members. Regardless of where we finish on the ladder, we make it a priority to celebrate our season with great enthusiasm. Our canteen and bar are open for each home game, with the BBQ fired up for egg and bacon rolls whenever possible. We also offer freshly brewed coffee to our members and supporters.

In recent developments, Hoddles Creek Cricket Club played their first T20 match against Yarra Junction, which came down to the wire. We may have lost by one run on the last ball of the game, but the passion and determination shown by our President, Grant “Wakka” Rankin, past President Luke Hetherington, and Club Champion Brenton Derix were commendable. We are excited to see our own players forming their own team for this season's T20 competition.

Inclusivity is a core value at Hoddles Creek Cricket Club, and we are delighted to announce the formation of our inaugural girls cricket team. The games will be held on Sundays, providing a great opportunity for newcomers to try their hand at the sport. If you're interested, please reach out to Grant on 0448 482 822. Lastly, we have a quirky update for you. At HCCC, we affectionately call our EFTPOS system “wombat-pos. ” So, when you visit our canteen or wish to purchase some new merchandise, make sure to grab something using our unique payment system.
