Forestville Hockey Club in Adelaide is excited to promote their upcoming hockey event, the Hookin2Hockey Program! Developed by Hockey Australia, this program aims to introduce primary school-aged children to the basic skills of hockey in a fun and engaging environment.
Forestville Hockey Club is proud to offer this fantastic opportunity for children in the local community. Not only does the club run the Hookin2Hockey Program, but they also bring it to local primary schools through the Hockey SA Schools Outreach Programs. This ensures that children in the area have access to hockey and can experience the joy of this sport.
For those participants who complete the Hookin2Hockey Program or the Schools Outreach Program and wish to continue their hockey journey, Forestville Hockey Club offers teams in the Hockey SA Metropolitan Competition. Held between March and September each year, this competition provides a platform for players to showcase their skills and compete in exciting matches.
The age groupings for these teams are as follows: under 8-year-olds practice at our club rooms located at Fairfax Ave Millswood, while all the other grades practice at Christian Brother College Ifound St Adelaide. The games are scheduled on Friday nights or Sunday mornings at various locations determined by Hockey SA's fixtures.
Forestville Hockey Club also organises Junior Development Academies and skills workshops throughout the year. These programs are designed to help children who want to further enhance their hockey skills and potentially reach state, national, or even Olympic team levels. It's a fantastic opportunity for aspiring young hockey players to receive additional training and guidance.
