The field itself is known for its quality playing surface, with well-manicured grass that allows the ball to run true. This, combined with the abundance of fresh air and natural sunlight, creates an ideal environment for playing the beautiful game of soccer.
Hornets Nest Field #4 is just one of the 11 pitches available at the Hornets Nest complex, which also includes the TMSI SuperDome Sports Centre. These facilities are widely regarded as some of the best in the City of Gloucester, attracting players from near and far.
In addition to the field itself, Hornets Nest Field #4 is equipped with the Pavillon Eric Danis Clubhouse, which underwent expansion in 2011 to include team change rooms. This clubhouse serves as a hub for the soccer community, offering meeting rooms, coaching facilities, office space, a canteen, and more. The meeting room, complete with a unique soccer ball-shaped glass, has hosted numerous team gatherings and coaching sessions over the years.
During the winter months, Hornets Nest Field #4 is still in use thanks to the on-site dome, which can accommodate one full field or three mini-fields for winter soccer programs and training sessions. It's a versatile and well-equipped facility that caters to players year-round.
