Hotshots Performance Dance Team is a renowned dance school located in Irymple, a vibrant town in the heart of Mildura, Victoria. The studio is under the expert guidance of Renee Burke-Hughes, a talented dance teacher with an impressive dance background and extensive industry experience.
Renee's journey in the world of dance began at an early age. She started her training at Mildura Ballet Guild and quickly excelled, achieving remarkable results in Advanced Classical Ballet, Modern Jazz, National, and Tap. Her passion and dedication led her to pursue further dance education at the prestigious ADV in Sydney, where she honed her teaching skills and expanded her knowledge.
After exploring other career paths, including mechanical engineering and event management, Renee returned to her hometown and established her own dance school, Sunraysia Dance Vision. For several years, she nurtured and mentored young dancers while organising major events in the community. Renee's expertise and commitment made her a highly respected figure in the local dance scene.
Renee's career then took her to the Gold Coast, where she managed the Broadbeach precinct and organised grand events such as Indy at Night, Popera on the Park, and Blues on Broadbeach. During this time, she also trained and taught at the renowned Todd McKenney School of Dance in Broadbeach, further refining her skills and staying connected to the dance industry.
A new chapter unfolded in Renee's life when she embarked on a unique journey working in the Cruise Industry. For almost a decade, she sailed across the globe as an Entertainment Director for Princess Cruises, producing captivating shows and working alongside incredible artists from around the world. Her invaluable connexions and industry knowledge became an asset to her career.
Finally, Renee returned to her roots in Mildura in 2015, settling down with her husband and welcoming her adorable son, Charlie, who inspires her every day. As she sought inclusive activities for Charlie, Renee realised the need for a dance studio that embraced diversity, empowerment, and skill development across various genres.
In 2020, Hotshots Performance Dance Team was born, just before the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the obstacles, Renee and her team persevered, adapting to the circumstances and even introducing virtual classes through Zoom to reach students from all over the world.
Hotshots Performance Dance Team prides itself on its inclusive approach, welcoming dancers of all abilities and backgrounds. The studio strives to create a positive and empowering culture where students and their families can flourish. With a focus on high skill levels in multiple genres, the school aims to produce versatile and industry-ready dancers.
