About
Hovenden Golf Club in Spalding offers a golfing experience steeped in history, dating back to 1911. Situated on the stunning Hovenden House estate, this 38-acre course is still managed by the Worth family, maintaining a legacy of providing challenges for golfers of all levels.
Arthur Hovenden Worth, founder of AH Worth and Company Limited, envisioned a memorable golfing destination amidst mature landscapes and diverse wildlife. Tony Worth, with the help of John Piccaver and Alan Oakes from Hunstanton Golf Club, brought this vision to life, developing a nine-hole course with six par threes and three par fours.
Initially shared with sheep, the course has evolved to fully cater to golfers, offering an un-pressured game against the backdrop of magnificent trees and changing landscapes. Both beginners and experienced golfers will find something to love, making it an ideal spot to enjoy a game or to introduce friends and family to the sport.
Hovenden Golf Club is committed to preserving its unique charm, ensuring the course remains enjoyable and welcoming. The club consistently strives to improve its facilities while maintaining the course's distinct character.
Become a part of Hovenden Golf Club and experience the beauty and challenge of this historic course, a treasured part of Spalding’s golfing community for over two decades.
