The studio is owned and operated by Hubert Essakow, a highly experienced and trained classical ballet dancer who discovered Pilates after sustaining an injury. Hubert Essakow's journey in the world of dance began in South Africa, where he trained as a classical ballet dancer and later danced with the CAPAB Ballet Company. In 1993, he moved to the UK to join the prestigious Royal Ballet Company. It was during his recovery from an injury that he discovered the transformative power of Pilates. This experience led him to fully rehabilitate his body and condition it to meet the physical demands of a career in dance.
After his career on stage, Hubert Essakow trained with Alan Herdman, a distinguished Pilates master trainer, and gained extensive knowledge and experience in both ballet and Pilates instruction. For ten years, he taught ballet and Pilates at various studios before establishing his own Pilates studio in South London in 2022. Hubert continues to teach ballet at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance and works with the English National Ballet.
