Huddersfield Wing Chun School in 2013. With his passion for Wing Chun and his dedication to teaching, Lee aims to pass on the knowledge and skills of this martial art to his students, helping them grow both physically and mentally.
Rik Garrad Rik began his martial arts journey in the late 1980s, training in various styles including Karate, Judo, and Muay Thai. He discovered Wing Chun in 2001 and has been devoted to its practise ever since. Rik has trained extensively under Sifu Ward, both in the UK and in Hong Kong. He has had the privilege of training with Grandmaster Ip Chun and honing his skills in the birthplace of Wing Chun.
Together, Lee and Rik bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to Huddersfield Wing Chun. They are committed to providing high-quality instruction in a safe and friendly environment. Their goal is to promote Wing Chun as taught by Grandmaster Ip Chun and Sifu Ward, ensuring that the principles and techniques are passed down accurately and authentically.
At Huddersfield Wing Chun School, students will learn the full Wing Chun system. The school places a strong emphasis on the Forms, from the foundational Siu Lim Tau to the advanced Wooden Dummy form and beyond. Students will also learn various techniques, such as straight line punches and low kicks, as well as the principles of body structure, relaxation, and simultaneous attack and defence. Through training, students can develop their Chi (energy), confidence, and skills in Meditation and Mindfulness.
Wing Chun is accessible to both men and women, regardless of size or strength. It is a martial art designed to help the smaller person overcome a larger opponent. The training provided at Huddersfield Wing Chun School focuses on practical self-defence applications, preparing students for real-life situations.

Wing Chun is a fast and effective close range martial art designed to help the smaller person overcome the larger opponent. It emphasises body structure, relaxation, straight line punches and low kicks, and can be taught equally to both men and women.
At the Huddersfield Wing Chun School we teach the full wing chun system, with all of the forms taught in detail from Siu Lim Tau to the Wooden Dummy and upwards. You can also benefit from increased levels of energy and confidence, along with skills of Meditation and Mindfulness.
